Gremek the Surly

If you ask (which you shouldn't) how Gremek the Surly manages to stay planted atop the least hospitable peak in the valley, you will most likely find yourself back at the bottom of the mountain with your bones arranged in new and interesting patterns.

Though he only puts forth only one apple a year, the purity and sweetness of that singular fruit is legendary. A dish crafted with a Gremek Apple is a delicacy beyond measure in the region and would instantly make the reputation of any aspiring chef or baker lucky enough to prepare one.

Of course, attaining an apple is no small matter, and there are significantly more shattered bones and busted egos than noteable dishes.

When asked (from a safe distance) why he doesn't freely share his glorious produce, he smiled creakily and replied, " Apples are merely bait, and I like them best when they are rotten and smashed upon the rocks below. My one true passion is harvesting the fools who seek them."



Hmm. The story was a lot better the first time I wrote it but didn't save it and then accidentally deleted it. Ah well.

On the plus side, I loooove my new scanner. It eats color and regurgitates COLOR!
